Plein-air painting, in my gardens

To start, I sketched different echinacea blooms onto each 5" x 7" sheet of 100% cotton watercolour paper. Next, I began the first study, painting the flowers first and planning tomadd the background later. For one I the other studies I'd paint the background first and then the blooms. For the final version, I'd paint the echinacea and background simultaneously using the wet-in-wet technique.
