This plein-air painting event in August 2021, along Montréal's historic Lachine Canal, was focused on abstract and semi-abstract styles rather than on realism. It was an interesting experience, including the exercise of "painting chairs that don't look like real chairs!" I had the additional challenge of a 25 km (15 miles) bike ride - each way - in hot and humid weather; we had a RealFeel or Humidex temperature of 42C (almost 108F) that day.
